House cleaning in Parker, CO

Sparkles-N-Shine Cleaning is a family-owned company based in Thornton and serving the Denver metro area. This page gathers what the Town of Parker says on its own website about its history, trash and recycling, homeowner permits, and short-term rentals, and shows where a house cleaning or a move-out clean fits in.

About the area

From a one-room way station to the town of Parker

The town’s history page says Parker traces its recent history to the Pine Grove post office, set up around 1862 by Alfred Butters in a one-room building in the pines. The Longs moved the building in 1864 to the site of today’s town and added rooms and sheds for animals and wagons. People called it the 20 Mile House because it stood 20 miles south of Denver, and it served travelers as a way station with meals, lodging, and provisions.

The page says James Sample Parker bought the 20 Mile House in 1874. Under his ownership it added a blacksmith shop and a general store and became the first official post office. He granted rights of way for roads, ditches, telephone lines, and the Denver and New Orleans Railroad, and he built the first school across the road. The page says the railroad provided the push for new businesses: by the turn of the century Parker had two hotels, three general stores, a brick works, a creamery, and a bank that was robbed twice.

Under the “Recent History” heading, the town says it was incorporated in 1981, including the Rowley Downs subdivision, the downtown area, and the Parker Square and Parker Plaza commercial areas. It says the town has grown from about one square mile at incorporation to much more today.

A town that has grown that much has homes of every age. The instant quote asks for your home’s size and the level of clean you want, so a house from the 1980s and a new build are each priced for what they need.

Good to know

Trash, recycling, remodel permits, and rentals in Parker

The town’s recycling page is direct: recycling, and general trash disposal, is not a service provided by the Town of Parker. It lists several options for these services, including a hauler that provides regular recycling collection, a disposal site in Aurora, the Sedalia Landfill, and a volunteer community recycling center. It also lists Douglas County GreenWorks for electronics and a household waste collection program from the Douglas County Health Department.

The page points to your own provider for the rules of your household. It tells residents to contact their solid waste and recycling provider to learn more about recycling for their household, and it lists common recyclables such as paper, cardboard, plastics, glass, aluminum, batteries, electronics, used oil, tires, and metal.

For anyone remodeling before a clean, the town’s Homeowner Corner page says permits are required for almost everything, including decks, basement finishes, additions, remodels, kitchen and bathroom remodels, water heater, furnace, or air conditioner replacement, and window, door, or siding replacements. The town offers an “EZ Permits” meeting by appointment to help do-it-yourself homeowners get started.

On short-term rentals, the town’s Town Council update from December 2021 says the council approved an ordinance clarifying that short-term rentals, which the code calls tourist homes, are a prohibited use of any dwelling in the Town of Parker. That update is from 2021, so check the town before you rely on it.

Cleaning services that fit a Parker home

Post-Construction

Parker requires a permit for kitchen and bathroom remodels, basement finishes, and additions. When the work is done and the inspector has signed off, a post-construction clean removes the dust and debris.

Post-Construction

Move-In / Move-Out

The town lists a recycling center, a landfill, and a disposal site, so plan where the old items go. Then book the move-out clean for the empty rooms: oven, refrigerator, cabinets, baseboards, and window tracks.
