House cleaning in Castle Pines, CO
Sparkles-N-Shine Cleaning is a family-owned company based in Thornton and serving the Denver metro area. This page gathers what the City of Castle Pines and Douglas County say on their own websites about trash, yard debris, hazardous waste, and utilities, and shows where a house cleaning or a move-out clean fits in.
About the area
A young city south of Denver
The city’s about page describes Castle Pines as a community just south of Denver in Douglas County, incorporated in 2008. Douglas County’s page on the governments in the county gives the date as February 12, 2008. The city’s community information page calls Castle Pines a home-rule municipality located within Douglas County, in the Douglas County School District.
The same page explains who provides the basics, and the answer depends on the address. Residents are served by either Core Electric Cooperative or Xcel Energy, with Xcel serving the Hidden Pointe neighborhood. Water and sewer come from the Castle Pines North Metropolitan District for homes west of I-25, and from the Parker Water and Sanitation District for homes east of I-25.
The city’s own pages show a parks-and-events city. They name Elk Ridge Park as the home of a leaf and pumpkin composting event and a splash day, and they list five parks for a volunteer cleanup day: Elk Ridge Park, Coyote Ridge Park, Retreat Park, Daniels Gate Park, and The Green at The Canyons. The community information page says the city works closely with partner organizations to deliver public services.
For a home, this means the first call is often to your own HOA or district, not to city hall. Our online quote asks for the size of your home and the level of clean you want, so the price follows the house, and we do not claim to work in any one neighborhood.
Good to know
Trash, yard debris, and hazardous waste in Castle Pines
The city’s “Rumor Has It” page answers the question many new residents ask. It says the City of Castle Pines does not coordinate trash pickup service, that the service is typically handled through your homeowner association, and that you can use the city’s HOA Lookup Map to find which HOA your property is in. If you rent out or sell a home, the HOA is the place to ask about the trash day and the hauler.
Yard debris has its own city event. The city holds a free slash collection day for tree limbs, prunings, pine needles, and other yard debris, which it says can add to fire hazards if left in place. It asks residents to keep trunks and limbs under 16 inches across, and it does not accept lumber, metal such as nails and screws, or rocks. The city also hosts a leaf and pumpkin composting event, free to residents, for clean leaves with no garden waste, branches, or stumps.
For hazardous waste, the city council approved an agreement with Douglas County in 2024 about the county’s household hazardous waste program. Douglas County says its GreenWorks site in Sedalia now takes household hazardous waste by appointment all year. Its electronics program is free for county residents who show proof of residency. Reservations are required for electronics, and the county says they fill up quickly.
These programs matter on cleaning day. Old paint, solvents, and cleaning chemicals should not go in the trash, and a clean-out goes faster when you have already planned where each item will go.
