House cleaning in Castle Rock, CO

Sparkles-N-Shine Cleaning is a family-owned company based in Thornton and serving the Denver metro area. This page gathers what the Town of Castle Rock and Douglas County say on their own websites about trash, clean-up help, yard debris, and keeping a home in order, and shows where a house cleaning or a move-out clean fits in.

About the area

The town named for a rock of rhyolite

The town’s history page says the discovery of rhyolite stone in the butte near Plum Creek is what put Castle Rock on the map. One of the original homesteaders, Jeremiah Gould, owned 160 acres south of “The Rock.” At that time the community was a few shacks for prospectors, quarry workers, and hired hands. In 1874 Gould donated 120 acres to “be known as Castle Rock,” and six streets were laid out: Elbert, Jerry, Wilcox, Perry, Castle, and Front.

The page says the Courthouse Square was designated and 77 lots were auctioned. Within a year a new train depot brought the Denver and Rio Grande Railway, which unloaded supplies for ranchers and shipped rhyolite from three local quarries and cheese from the dairy farms. The depot is now the Castle Rock Historical Museum on Elbert Street, and the page says rhyolite is still used for decorative rock work in many historic buildings.

The town’s about page says Castle Rock is a full-service municipality and the Douglas County seat. It is also home to the headquarters of the Douglas County School District, Douglas County, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. It describes a town that wants to stay physically freestanding from the rest of the metro area and that values its small-town character and its traditional Downtown core.

A town with Downtown streets from the 1870s and neighborhoods built since then has homes of every age. The instant quote asks for the size of your home and the level of clean you want, so the price follows the house and not the address.

Good to know

Trash, clean-up help, and property rules in Castle Rock

The town’s Other Services page is plain: the town does not provide trash removal or recycling services. Neighborhoods with homeowner associations may provide trash removal through the HOA, and homes in areas without an HOA must get individual service. The page lists two trash providers that serve the area, HBS Trash and Waste Management, and tells residents about a community recycling center that runs on Saturday mornings.

For clearing out a house, the town keeps a Clean Up Resources page, which it says is a list of vendors for clean-up, haul-away, recycling, or donation, and notes that the town does not endorse any of them. It lists a free donation pickup, a store that accepts working and usable appliances and furniture, a free refrigerator and freezer pickup from the electric utility, and junk removal and dumpster companies. It also points to Douglas County GreenWorks, which takes yard debris, electronics, and hazardous waste, with an appointment for the last two.

The county’s GreenWorks electronics program is free for Douglas County residents, with proof of residency, and reservations are required. The town also runs a Christmas tree recycling program at four drop-off points from late December through January.

The town’s page on maintaining a residential property lists rules that matter around a clean-out. Garbage containers may sit next to a public road or alley for no more than 24 hours. Any accumulation of rubbish, trash, or solid waste is not allowed. Construction and landscape materials, debris, and dirt are not allowed on any public street, alley, or easement. Property owners must clear snow and ice from the sidewalks next to their property within 48 hours after a storm of two or more inches.

Move-In / Move-Out

The town does not haul trash for you, so arrange a hauler, a donation pickup, or a county drop-off first. Then book the move-out clean for the empty rooms: oven, refrigerator, cabinets, baseboards, and window tracks.

Homes from the Downtown core to newer streets differ in age and size. A standard, deep, or premium deep clean fits each one, and the instant quote shows the price for your home.

Recurring Plans

Many neighborhoods set trash service through the HOA, so your week already runs on a schedule. A weekly or every-two-weeks cleaning plan fits into it with the same team each visit.

Pre-Listing Cleaning

The town’s rules ask owners to keep a property free of accumulated trash. A seller who has cleared the house can book a pre-listing clean so floors, kitchens, and baths show well.

Pre-Listing Cleaning

Our instant quote prices a clean by the square foot of your home, the price is the same in every city we serve, and every visit has a $130 minimum.
