House cleaning in Lone Tree, CO

Sparkles-N-Shine Cleaning is a family-owned company based in Thornton and serving the Denver metro area. This page gathers what the City of Lone Tree and Douglas County say on their own websites about trash service, yard clean-ups, and short-term rentals, and shows where a house cleaning or a move-out clean fits in.

About the area

A home rule city that incorporated in 1995

Douglas County’s page on the governments in the county says the City of Lone Tree was incorporated in November 1995 and became a Colorado home rule city on May 5, 1998. It is governed by a council-manager form of government, where the council sets city policy and the manager is responsible for city operations. The county’s home rule page adds that every city and town in Douglas County is a home rule municipality, and that Highlands Ranch is a metro district in unincorporated Douglas County.

A county article on local parks describes Sweetwater Park as a neighborhood park for people who live in Lone Tree. It says the county and the school district dedicated unused land at the park for future expansion.

The city’s trash page sorts collection days by neighborhood, which shows how the city is laid out. It lists neighborhoods such as Heritage Hills, Belvedere, Carriage Club, Montecito, RidgeGate, Sky Ridge, The Charter, Fairways, and Lyric, and it has a special form for newly built homes in the Lyric neighborhood to start service.

That list is the city’s own and a reminder that homes in Lone Tree are of many ages and sizes. We do not claim to work in any one neighborhood; the instant quote asks for the size of your home and the level of clean you want, so the price follows the home.

Good to know

Free trash service, yard clean-ups, and rentals in Lone Tree

The city’s trash and recycling page says Lone Tree offers residents of single-family homes free trash and recycling service through a partnership with Waste Connections, and it calls Lone Tree one of only two cities in Colorado to do so. Each single-family home may choose one trash container and one recycling container, in a 64-gallon or 96-gallon size, and up to three containers at no charge in all.

The page says all waste must be inside the Waste Connections containers. Bags or debris left at the curb will not be picked up, except during the spring and fall yard clean-up months. Trash is picked up the same day every week, recycling every other week on the same day, and service is delayed one day after New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

For large or bulky items, the city says Waste Connections will collect them by special arrangement with the resident, and the resident pays for it. That matters before a move: arrange the bulky pickup first, and the cleaning crew can reach the whole house. During two months a year, in spring and fall, the city offers a citywide yard waste collection with Waste Connections.

Short-term rentals are limited. The city’s page says new short-term rentals, such as those on Airbnb and VRBO, are not allowed anywhere in Lone Tree. Rentals that were established before March 8, 2023 may continue if they hold a city license, and the application window for existing rentals has closed. Existing rentals follow rules such as 2 adults per bedroom, a maximum of 8 occupants, and the city license number in every ad.
